Archives Descriptive Database

The Archives Descriptive Database is an online guide to the archival holdings at the Yukon Archives.

Please note:

  • This database does not include published material from the Yukon Archives Library such as books, pamphlets and reports. This material can be searched through the Public Access Catalogue at http://www.pac.gov.yk.ca.

  • This database does not include digitized archival documents. Instead, it provides information about the holdings that allow you to identify records that relate to your research.

  • This database does not include descriptions of all archival records. New information is added on a regular basis. In the meantime, you may have to consult paper-based inventories in our reference room to find what you need.

Choose one of the three search options below. For help on which to choose, please see The Archives Descriptive Database: An Orientation.

[Search Descriptions] Search descriptions of the groups of archival records that make up our holdings. These include records created by both the Government of Yukon, municipal governments and the private sector. Where available, links are provided to lists of related files and items.

[Search for Files and Items] Search descriptions of files and items (such as letters, maps, or audio recordings) in the Archives' holdings. Where applicable, links to the larger group of records to which a file or item belongs are included.

[Search for Record Creators] Search descriptions of Yukon government agencies, municipal governments, persons and families, and private sector organizations that have created archival records in our holdings. Included are links to information about the archival records created by each person, organization or agency.
