Scope and Content |
|
The fonds consists of photographs and textual records. The original photographs are assorted sizes and depict Mrs. Moody's stay in Dawson City and Carcross; the students at Chooutla School and St. Paul's Hostel; views of Eagle and Fort Yukon in Alaska; views of Moosehide, Old Crow, Fort Yukon, Rampart House, and Whitehorse in the Yukon; Anglican Church activities; fox farms; and dog teams. Also included are photographs from her visit in 1961.
The textual records consist of typescript manuscripts written by Mary Davis Moody, 1938-1974, titled "A New Zealand Bride on the Arctic Circle" (folder 1), "Alaska Re-Visited" and "An Interlude in the Lives of Two Little Eskimos" (folder 2); correspondence between Mrs. Moody and Florence Whyard, Mrs. Whyard's notes of conversations with Mrs. Moody, and a typescript manuscript "A River in the Klondike, the story of a New Zealand Bride in the Canadian North" by Mrs. Moody and told to Mrs. Whyard (folder 3); and newspaper clippings (folder 4).
