|
The series consists of individual estate files, which include wills; releases and transmission applications to transfer real property; certificates of administration; affidavits of relationship; and deeds to effect the transfer of real property, mining claims, chattels and other assets.

|
The records were stored at the Records Centre prior to transferral to Yukon Archives.

| Notes |
|
In the Yukon, no court of probate existed apart from the Territorial Court. It was in this court that wills were proved and Letters of Administration were issued.

|
Estates were numbered consecutively; after 1947 it appears that a new numbering system was started.

A few estate files are found in the Annual / Sequentially numbered cases sub-series of the Cases series. See cases 11/38 (GOV 1429 f.8), 10/46 (GOV 1430 f.18), and 1/47 (GOV 1430 f.19).
Estate files are also contained in the Records of the Public Administrator.
