The fonds consists of research material, correspondence and photographs used for the writing of Hope Morritt's memoir, "Land of the Fireweed: A Young Woman's Story of Alaska Highway Construction Days".
The textual records include biographical information about individuals involved with the construction of the Alaska Highway; Department of National Defence material; meteorological documents about the coldest recorded day in North America; and articles about telecommunications in the north, the Canol pipeline, and Atlin, B.C. and the road building project to the community. There are also a few articles written by Morritt and her husband, Dan Cameron.
The photographs depict construction of the road to Atlin, a view of Whitehorse from the old Air Force road, and the crest of the "North-West Hi-Way System".
