Scope and Content 

 

The fonds consists of corporate records, posters and photographs for the Whitehorse Drama Club in Yukon. The corporate records include the constitution dated 1964, minutes of meetings, financial statement from 1972, club ledger, play lists including notes and miscellaneous correspondence. The posters are from club productions between 1952 and 1990 with most of the posters dating to the 1950s and 1960s. The photographs are b&w and colour prints for the following productions: 1956 production of "Harvey"; 1979 production of Alice in "Through the Looking Glass"; 1980 production of "Catherine the Great"; 1981 production of "Midsummer's Night Dream" and "The Emperor's New Clothes"; 1981 production of "Zoo Story", "The Marriage Proposal" and "The Tiger"; 1982 production of "The Gazebo" and "Blithe Spirit"; 1983 production of "An Inspector Calls" and "Dick Whittington and His Cat" ; 1984 production of "The Importance of Being Ernest"; 1987 production of "Two and Two Makes Sex"; 1988 production of "The Land of Green Ginger". The pamphlets are theatre programs from eight productions.

Immediate Source of Acquisition 

 

Accession 79/55 and 79/88 received from Lynn Duff July 1979. Accession 79/100 received from Henriette Taudin-Chabot in September 1979. Accession 80/100, 81/87, 82/195, and 82/564 received from Fred Stewart, of Fred's Fotos in Whitehorse, in 1980, 1981 and 1982.

Restrictions on Access 

 

Photographs and posters may be removed from the Yukon Archives for display purposes only with written permission from the Whitehorse Drama Club executive and under conservation advice from the Yukon Archives.

Notes 

 

Eight pamphlets have been transferred to the Yukon Archives imprint collection.

Physical Description Notes 

 

Includes: 358 photographs (216 b&w, 142 colour), 8 pamphlets, and 75 posters. Forty-eight of the photographs have photographer's stamp on verso.
