Scope and Content |
|
The fonds consists of photographs and manuscripts that were created by John Sutherland about his time working on the Yukon Telegraph Service. There is also correspondence received by Sutherland, 1958-1972. Two home-movies of the 1950 California Club Reunion and of Nome, Alaska are also in the fonds, as well as newspaper clippings and an "In Memoriam" card announcing the death of John Sutherland.

Custodial History |

John Sutherland originally sent the bulk of this material to "Alaska Magazine". Flo Whyard, the Canadian editor of the magazine at the time, donated the material to Yukon Archives in 1974. The "In Memorium" material was donated by Mrs. John Sutherland in 1981.
