This collection consists of photographs predominantly taken during the Northwest Service Command’s construction and operation of the Alaska Highway and Canol pipeline. Whitehorse scenes include views of downtown, shipyards, Yukon River, and the Canol refinery. Also included are views of Carcross, Yukon scenery, Dawson Creek, Fairbanks and other miscellaneous scenes.
There is also a photocopy of a 1969 biographical newspaper article about Mrs. Ruth Tracy, formerly Mrs. W.E. Potter, who lived in Dawson, Forty Mile, and Mayo between 1901 and 1918.
Custodial History |
Mrs. Ruth Tracy donated photographs to the Kamloops Museum and Archives in 1964. The museum donated photographs to the Yukon Archives in 1980 but advised that the collection may be a combination of Mrs. Tracy's donation and other collections. Only one photograph (80/44 #14) is directly attributed to Mrs. Tracy.
