Scope and Content |
|
The fonds contains photographs showing scenes of the Alaska Highway (1942-44), community airports from Edmonton to Aishihik (1943-44), and the Canol Road. Aerial photographs of the following airports are included: Edmonton, Grande Prairie, Dawson Creek, Ft. St. John, Ft. Nelson, Watson Lake, Teslin, Whitehorse, Snag River, Smith River, Beaton R. and Aishihik. Photographs of various landscapes along the Alaska Highway include the Liard River, Sikanni River, Valley of Toutel, B.C., the Racing River, the junction of the Peace and Pine Rivers, and Boundary, Alaska. Photographs of the Canol show the road itself, the surrounding landscape and various ice formations in winter. Specific sites include the Dodo Valley above Canyon Ice-Form, and aerial surveys of the Canol Pipeline.
